Everything feeds us—we are not only fed by food but by everything else in our lives. Healthy relationships, a fulfilling career, regular physical activity and a spiritual practice are essential forms of nourishment. When these primary foods are in balance, what we eat becomes secondary. As you work with me, we look at how all parts of your life affect your health as a whole. As your health coach, I am your wellness guide and supportive mentor. Together, we work to achieve your goals in areas such as digestive issues, weight loss, mood, cravings, and energy. Over the course of the program, you will develop a deeper understanding of the foods and lifestyle choices that work best for you, and implement lasting changes that will improve your happiness and health.
I practice a bio-individual approach in my counseling. The concept of bio-individuality is that each person has her or his own food and lifestyle needs. So, when the experts say, “dairy is good for you” or “fat is unhealthy,” it doesn’t apply to everyone. One person’s food is another person’s poison, and that’s why fad diets tend to fail in the long run. Working on the principle of bio-individuality, I’ll support you in making positive changes that are based on your unique needs, lifestyle, personal preferences, and background. Instead of prescribing one fix for all people, I use a personalized, holistic approach that is based on your needs.
The Integrative Nutrition pyramid depicts a balanced approach to nutrition: more high-quality, organic vegetables, fruits, complex carbohydrates, protein and water; less meat, milk, sugar and artificial food. The pyramid is surrounded with the primary food circle, the parts of life that satisfy our hunger for living and create a balanced life.
My practice is based on the belief that our bodies will heal themselves, when given the chance. I love to teach people how to incorporate nutrient-rich foods, anti-inflammatory foods, and superfoods in their daily diets, in a way that’s quick and easy—creating glowing skin and a body they feel good in.
