This is a growing list of the amazingly talented people I’ve discovered and my favorite books, beauty, yoga instructors and more—to deepen your journey to a healthier, happier life—and some just for pure luxury.

Beauty:

Tommy Bucket, stylist to the stars and sweet as a cupcake. See him at Marie Robinson Salon, New York City. His cut will blow you away and last all season. This one falls into the ‘pure luxury’ category.

Pangea Organics. This totally organic skin care line actually works—and leaves a fresh scent rather than the typical chemical aroma. If you know me, you’ve heard me rave. And rave. Get it here.

Dr. Hauschka. Botanically based makeup that produces the most sultry eyes or a natural bronzed glow–with the cleanest and most wearable texture and colors. Even after working at a beauty magazine for four years and testing hundreds of eyeliners, I still use my Dr. Hauschka pencil (I’ve been a loyal fan of ten years now!).

Sjal. Beauty and brains merge with this scientifically designed gem-stone infused skincare line. An all natural line with a holistic approach and a big dose of luxury. Right now, I’m using the Deep Pore Cleanser and I love the silky, clean texture. For a splurge–the Pearl Enzyme Exfoliating Mask, made with real crushed pearls. It’s divine.

Yoga:

Julie Dohrman, Anusara yoga instructor at Yogaworks, Soho focuses on a heart-opening practice and guides you through a playful class that values precision. You’ll walk out feeling light as a feather, grounded and centered–ready to jump back into the city bustle and tackle anything that was bogging you down.

Elena Brower. Certified Anusara Yoga Teacher and founder and co-owner of Virayoga in New York City, the Global Adidas Ambassador, and a mom to 4-year-old Jonah, Elena Brower is a total inspiration. Her Saturday class in SoHo is the perfect way to start the weekend. You’ll come out feeling stronger, wiser, and lighter.

Michelle Barge, the yoga instructor who will make you do things you never thought you could do (yes, I’m talking about that headstand). Barge gives you the tough love you don’t always get in a yoga class, and she makes you want to push yourself. Great for the lazy yogi or someone who needs to sweat a little! See her in downtown Nolita.
